Sattva Yoga NY

200 Hrs YTT : “The Path to Wholeness”

Announcing a new 200 hour, in-person, Yoga Teacher Training in Rochester NY that is Yoga Alliance Affiliated.  A good yoga teacher knows the nature of the body, the layers of the mind and the importance of a heart centered practice. We can find that mind/body balance through a strong Asana, Pranayama and Meditation practice. Most people think yoga is not attainable for them only to realize it’s all about doing for yourself, by yourself, with yourself in a like-minded community. Take your practice into a new perspective and consider joining to learn more and share what feels right with the world.

New 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training

April- November, 2026

Are you ready to open up to all the gifts of Yoga?

Free informational meeting on January 31, 2026.

This YTT is different - Learn classical yoga through the lens of:

Functional movement science

Learn Asana through a study of human motion. Understand what functional range of motion really means! We will apply principles of not just anatomy but include the next level of understanding around biomechanics, myofacial lines, theories of motor control etc. We will also dive deep into how our physiology and psychology affect our bodies presence in the world.

Neuro-developmental approach to the mind.

Study the layers of the mind and yoga identifies 4 aspects. Each has an important and specific role in our mental functions and we will learn how the brain builds and organizes itself to work in everyday life. The bottom-up approach allows the body to influence the mind and yoga gives many techniques for supporting growth through focused attention and awareness.

Trauma informed somatic practice.

Learn about the common areas in the body that tends to hold in protection patterns caused by stress, worry and fear. We will also learn how to build a safe yoga practice for more embodiment, grounding, breath work, vibrational medicine and neuroplasticity.

Consciousness explorations.

The innermost part of our being wants to come out to the surface and express our “authentic” self through creations. Deep self-awareness moves beyond physical poses to connect with the mind, the emotions and our daily choices while always maintaining an awe for the mystery of life.
